Tablescape Styling in collaboration with Broken Tart and Sprout Home's Callie FitzGerald

For the second consecutive year, I had the privilege of working alongside a talented group of creatives to merge food, florals, and a carefully curated selection of props, all inspired by the latest issue of Sixtysix magazine, an award-winning design and lifestyle luxury biannual celebrating the modern creative life.

Titled The Table Read, our concept was centered around an elevated book club experience—where friends come together to connect and converse. The immersive tablescape we designed set the stage for a lively panel discussion in the Dacor showroom at the Merchandise Mart during Design Chicago, the Midwest's largest residential design conference.

The Before:

To bring the vision to life, we started by curating all the key elements that would set the tone for our theme. We sourced a collection of books, glassware, and games, all set against a backdrop of layered black-and-white newspapers and stacked glass shelves. I created height in the space by hanging mobiles made from magazine clippings, tying in some of the most graphic and interesting moments in the issue. Then, Callie arrived to elevate the scene with her stunning floral towers...

During:

Callie’s floral masterpieces brought an instant pop of color and vertical height, drawing guests into the showroom. The blooms not only added a visual focal point, but they also set the stage for a day of inspiration and anticipation. As guests mingled, they were treated to a panel discussion featuring Sixtysix Editor-in-Chief Chris Force, along with Marli Jones and Amanda Eby from Rebel House Interiors, and Wade Hall, the visionary behind some of Chicago’s favorite spots like Cara Cara Club, Estero, and Sportsman’s Club.

The After:

Then, the sisters Katie and Krissy Mack of Broken Tart arrived, carrying an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, and an irresistible selection of sweets. Their delicious spread was artfully layered and styled, making it nearly impossible to resist—guests were already salivating before the event even began. It was the perfect collision of food, florals, and design, creating a scene where everyone could gather, eat, and enjoy while connecting over the latest trends in residential design.
